WELCOME 2012

Welcome all to 2012.
You were all greeted by Karin from Osaka at the top of the page, showing
us classic Kansai style. Osaka is well known for its bright and colourful
characters with their warm and welcoming personality.
Karin was certainly that. Bright colours were her theme.
Karin was spotted on Takeshita Dori in Harajuku in Tokyo.

Next to welcome you into 2012 with open arms was a young teenager
from Tokyo showing us how colourful she is, clearly demonstrating the direction
for the year ahead. Bright, cheerful and full of colours to please both the eyes
and ones heart. We often forget from time to time as adults that there's still
much fun to be had in the world and that it doesn't always have to be
doom and gloom, but with a light sprinkling of colour here and there, we can
all benefit from the magic it creates. Colour always brings a smile to your face.

At JSTREETSTYLE, you'll always be welcomed with open arms
and with a sea of the brightest pallet of colours.

TOKYO STREET STYLE AND THE BARRACK ROOM

Tokyo Street Style

Haruka poses for a picture in Shibuya Tokyo by the steps
of the 109. She wears a sequin mini dress with a vintage
silk collar. Her tights and shoes are from a used or second
hand fashion shop. Haruka is a sales assistant at the stylish
vintage shop "Barrack Room" in Shibuya.
The shop is so tiny, with not enough space to swing a cat
as the saying goes but within its tiny space tucked away
in a back street, is an Alain's Cave packed full of Vintage gems.
Hats, Victoriana, quirky items, unusual furs or shoes..
The decor makes you feel as if you're a child on a journey
trying to spot something new every five seconds.
Honeycomb structure, Angels wings, sculptures, the most
unusual seat beckoning you to try it out for good measure.
It's all good at the Barrack Room. An amazing and an eclectic
mix of fashion items to interest most vintage fashion fans
with an interest in the Avant Garde. The staff, Haruka and
her colleague Hiro were helpful and kind, welcoming of the foreigner
that had walked through their door.

I can highly recommend this shop especially if you've had
enough of the mass high street, or mega brand shops burried
within a glass forest known as a shopping mall or arcade.
To find a shop that has a genuine and unique personality
to go along with your shopping experience is rare these days
but I urge you all to try and visit this shop.

TOKYO STYLE 2011 PART 8

 JSTREETSTYLE TOKYO 2011  PART 8

Saori Times Two

This is the Saori you already know. Saori Takemura from Gunma
prefecture. This one is very close to my, heart like many of you.
She's the uber stylish shop girl from the Vintage fashion shop
Haight and Ashbury in Tokyo's Shimokitazawa district.
As usual she's really working it with some of the many vintage
items from the shops collection. Here she models a one-piece
mini dress or LBD with tights and purple Mary Jane's.

Here's another one. Let me introduce you to the other Saori.
Sadly I don't have her full name but you you see this or
you know her, please, please, please gt in touch.

I met this woman first on Takeshita Dori in Tokyo's Harajuku
district. Dressed in Chanel with a little light shopping at said
brands store, she oozes style and has a big, bright character.
A tiny little thing up close but she really packs a mighty punch
with her sense of style. We had a chat, I shot a few images
and I was left thinking like any photographer. WOW!
Please god if only I had more time or I could see her again.

A week or so later, while walking the streets of Tokyo's
Shibuya district this time, what do I see standing out
from the sea of amazingly dressed people crossing from
the 109 fashion super Store towards Shibuya station.
The uber stylish Saori. They are both stylish but this one
has a liking for the super brands. I asked not the questions
I aught to of possibly. I was just happy to see her again for
in a different land, different day and town what were the odds?

We chat, she laughs, she rocks.
She agrees to let me take a few more pics so back we go
across the many stripes of the famed Shibuya crossing,
back towards the 109 or Ichi Maru Kyu as it's known but the
cool in Tokyo. The camera is out and so too are the security.
So we head around the corner of the store. A crown builds
behind me watching the proceedings, They love her and you
can see why. This time Saori is dressed in Dolce & Gabbana.
Their classic monochrome tuxedo suit, the amazing Miss Sicily
Tote bag in leopard print, a purchase of only a few hour ago.
She throws in more wild feline accents with a pair of super
high heels. The crowd claps and cheers. WOW!

Saori. Please get in touch. We need to do this again.
You've got fans now.

as their style theme.
