These expressive words have come to mean much to the vintage fashion world.
Yes it’s word play on those other words, but in the world of vintage style,
it’s excitement, as the event sees the largest gathering in London, of the finest
of vintage style around, with specialist dealers and traders, and we’re taking many,
like so many, you’ll become quite overwhelmed. I know I wasn’t the only one that was.
So after much time inside doing my Stylist thing, meeting, greeting, buying,
I got my camera out, ventured outside myself and started to do my street style thing.
I’ve been documenting and shooting people with style, with visually expressive
individuality since 1995. Starting off in London, then by 1997 I ventured to
Tokyo and Osaka, 2015 was my first time in Paris. But in and around japan as
many of you all know about me is my home, and my creative playground.
Asia especially Japan has a true love and understanding of Vintage fashion and style.
It has a very special and long term relationship.
Now China and South Korea are stepping up with their growing interest, with the likes
of Gucci and it’s clear like and inspiration from European and Asian vintage
and historical items.Makes sense to explore the real and genuine articles for oneself.
So stepping outside I hoped captured the heart and feel of the event’s many guests
and attendees. I always ask permission first to shoot, so sadly there are mind-blowing
examples of style missing, as they were not wiling to allow me to document the very style
they dressed in to share with all. But here’s some of what I captured
and can share with you. Hope you like what you see.
Drop me a line or comment if you like.

How can one have street style or vintage in the UK without or favourite Japanese funster and vintage fashion maiden, Shion. |
