We’ve pounded the streets in search of what you need, what you’ve been longing for,
what you keep asking about, and with found it. Remember those words, street style?
It’s back. On the first weekend of August we were blessed with some great fashion acton,
from London’s streets.
Wandering around London on a summers day post pandemic, it was amazing
to find an actual live fashion event going on, with genuine real human beings
together enjoying themselves. Remember when we used to do things like
get together and enjoy ourselves? No!
It’s been so long, am not surprised you can’t remember.
Former Red Or Dead fashion designer, and Design Council member,
Wayne Hemingway had one of his events going on, at London’s
Kings Cross, packed full of vintage fashion vendors selling their gear,
surrounded by classic and vintage cars and bikes. The event set to
classic tunes and tracks from the past from the 1930s through to early 90s,
drew a sizeable crowd consistently attending all day, even when the heavens
opened upon us and that lot upstairs, slung out their bath water upon us
down here. We still partied all the same. that we did indeed.
It was a great first day back to normality, after almost 2 years of unhappiness
the world over. The world is still broken, but is on the mend. If you can dress
up in your best finery, or at least head on over to the Classic Car Boot Sale,
to pick up some new threads with an old groove, do a bit of bopping and some
of that Lindy Hop stuff,am sure things will get off to a way faster recovery,
at least one with a bit of a smilethat’s not been around for such a long while.
